The principle camera I use is a Canon EOS 350D with Canon EF Lenses. Not too expensive to buy these days and you could pick up a 450D which has the very handy 'Live View' function - almost essential for focusing. The other camera I use occasionally is an old film Minolta SLR which is perfect for long exposures like startrails as the film cameras don't give you 'battery glow' on the image and the battery lasts so much longer that you can run it for the whole night if you want with no fear of loosing an image. The lunar & Planetary shots are obtained with just a standard webcam which has the lens removed and an IR filter attached. The one I use is a Phillips SPC900 and you can buy these now on eBay pre-assembled with software included. All the software I use bar Photoshop is freeware and can be downloaded off the net. When shooting through a scope I use a Meade ETX125 OTA and a Meade 10'' SCT. The odd time a 70mm Skylux refractor (or a joint effort with Dave Lillis & his 20'' Obsession!) Usually I attach a focal reducer to speed up the scope and also increase the field size. I have found though that the focal reducer can cause internal reflections especially on bright objects which are a pain to process out. Tracking is either obtained with an Astrotrac or else with the camera mounted on a scope. Pictured below is some of the main equipment I use.
